Stefano Bortoli

Staff Research Engineer / Huawei (Munich Research Center)

Stefano Bortoli is Staff Research Engineer at the Huawei Munich Research Center (in Germany) since 11.2016. He is part of the Lamport team, working on Real-time, Big data and AI R&D  for Huawei public cloud and its vertical solutions. Current focus is on Online AI algorithms and methods for Traffic Management, leveraging and extending modern stream processing engines to design and implement online machine learning algorithms. Before joining Huawei, Stefano worked as Technical Director and Researcher at Okkam Srl, working on large-scale data integration processes and reasoning combining big data and semantic tools. Since 2005, Stefano was involved in several EU funded research projects, acting also as Work Package leader. Stefano holds a PhD from the University of Trento (Italy), with thesis entitled “Knowledge-based Open Entity Matching” combining machine learning and formal ontology methods to create a robust entity matching algorithm for entity matching on the semantic web.
